This Form Of Meditation Is Changing My Life
What I've learned from Dr. Joe Dispenza and the change I already feel going on inside me
Over the years I have tried a lot of self help stuff in order to build myself up through my mid-20s and become a better version of myself. Like a lot of you, I have natural tendencies that I do that I don’t even realize are either limiting me or programming a less than optimal version of my life. A couple of months ago, my father handed me this book by Dr. Joe Dispenza on Becoming Supernatural.
I read about half of it and started some of the meditations, but wasn’t really getting it. This past week, it has clicked, and I want to tell you about what that “it” is. I want to give you a couple of YouTube videos to watch, my personal use of this technique, and what I am hoping to get out of this to both inspire you and open your eyes to the possibilities of what could be with a few changes no matter if you want to achieve a specific goal, change something, or actualize a new version of yourself or more.
Why Did I Seek Out Some Transformation?
For the majority of my life I have been told what to do. Expectations were set, goals were known, and there was a natural progression. I got very good at this system and used it to do well in school, university, and now both my corporate job and my business. But there is something deeply missing inside of me and in my mid-20s I started realizing that.
Like many people, my daily life has become a checklist. I am rushing to get things done, I have a never ending list of stuff to do, if I am not being productive I feel like I’m wasting time, and if I am wasting time well then I just am unsatisfied. As a kid, I started having small boughs of anxiety, and coupling these adult responsibilities with already preexisting anxious tendencies, the last few years have been a hard battle on my central nervous system.
I started getting jitters when I would drink a normal amount of coffee, talking to a stranger would give me an adrenaline dump afterward, and I have found myself becoming more negative in my internal voice. If you’ve ever experienced any of these then you know what I am talking about and you probably relate to this pretty well. Either way, these “symptoms” made me realize that something was not optimal in my current life and something needed to change.
As a late teen, early 20 year old, I drank coffee without jitters, I talked to strangers without overthinking, and I definitely didn’t have random adrenaline dumps. Somewhere along the line I made a change that was affecting my life today. My life today was making my work harder, my workouts harder, my relationships harder, and I needed to find a solution.
3 years ago is when this journey all started for me as I think I had a bit of a quarter life crisis moving into my own apartment and taking on all my new responsibilities as an adult. 2 years ago I hurt my back in a way I never imagined I would and that was mentally and physically hard to recover from with such limited information. Pile all of this onto a full work and side hustle schedule and already existing perceptions about myself from a younger time, and you can see how we are where we are at today.
The Solution That I Found Within Me
When you start to realize that you want to change, that is like the first step in 100 steps that help you get to your desired state. I’d say I’m on like step 80 or something. Not quite there but closer than ever before. I say this because I realized I wanted to make a change probably 2 years ago. That change took two years of acknowledgement, trial, error, some giving up, and some persistance to find a solution that is currently working for me. Hopefully I can speed up your process.
The solution is heart and mind alignment, visualizing a new ideal version of myself, and accepting myself as I become. Now, if you read that how I usually read it when I heard other people say things like this, you’re probably like “ya that makes sense I’ve tried that before its okay but didn’t really do anything for me”.
Trust me I get it. I was the exact same way until I learned how to really do it. That moment when things actually start clicking. It all happened because I had been trying these things on and off for two years. I had tried some therapy, some meditation, and even some medication for a little while.
But then I did this meditation below and my mind opened. I woke up feeling great with an energy that I hadn’t felt in a while. I didn’t feel groggy but light.
That morning, I knew I felt different so I then decided to watch a podcast like the one below. I didn’t realize it, but I was practicing at night and learning in the morning. Dr. Dispenza actually forces people in his workshops to teach others so they ingrain the philosophy into their neural connections, which is what I was doing by basically studying in the morning watching podcasts and practicing at night when I meditated.
Finally, throughout my day, after I understood the why and how of this form of self actualization, I then would take charge of my daily thoughts and work to build a new energy in my daily life.
Dr. Dispenza talks about connecting your heart and mind and building a field of energy around yourself (no I’m not crazy but I know you’re thinking it haha). In my daily life, I quickly noticed how I would have a negative thought at work, ruminating worries in the morning, or even limiting self beliefs as I’d go through my day.
As I noticed these arise, I would stop myself, connect my heart and mind together, and think the positive opposite. For example, if I had a negative thought that said “I feel tired, today is going to be a bad day at work”, I would stop myself, connect my heart and mind together and remind myself how I am good at my job, my day is going to be amazing, I am a good person who has good intentions with everyone I meet, I excel in my creations at work, and I genuinely do the best I can in all situations.
Now imagine doing that atleast 50 times a day. That is how I am using this idea to heal my body, mind, future, and perspective about myself. It is not perfect and I am still working to hone this energy in, but man is it causing good change in me.
How Can You Start Doing This?
Give yourself 20 minutes to listen to the meditation each night (they’re free on youtube and very accessible; just type in Joe Dispensa mediation)
Watch Dr. Joe talk about his work on podcasts and become familiar with the why of what he says (if you can know the why then your belief and neural connections form much stronger to this practice)
Do this for a few days, then a few weeks and you will be hooked (the first day probably nothing will change, but if you compile this over days and weeks the habits of transformation stack huge)
You don’t have to have something inside of you that you want to change in order for this to be applicable. You could simply have a goal that you want and use this meditation to align your energy with the frequency of that thing.
Lets say you want to buy an Audi R8 GT (which are sick btw). These run about a quarter million today. Most of us don’t have that, but we can achieve that with proper tuning. There are business opportunities, investment opportunities, and countless ways that you could get this car. All Dr. Dispenza thinks you have to do is align yourself with it.
Meditate at night on this car and the feeling of driving it and what you’d have to do/or be to get it. Learn about aligning yourself with this process in the morning to a level where you could explain the process to someone else. Keep your intentions clear throughout the day and when you have negative thoughts that run through your mind like “who am I kidding I will never have that car, I don’t even know how I will get it” just realign your thoughts in a more positive association to your desired energetic outcome.
Here’s a list of mediation videos I’ve watched and enjoyed:
Here’s a list of podcasts that you can watch to become familiar with the why and how:
Here is the audio book you can buy on Becoming Supernatural if you don’t want to read the actual book:

The basic premise is that your daily life was programmed into you whether you want to realize it or not. You were born in a place, that place had people, those people had certain routines that they did that you were exposed to. These things we’re exposed to cause chemical reactions inside of us called emotions and these emotions bring about our daily life. The majority of your being is programmed and if you never change then it is really easy to have a guess at what your future is going to be like. It is not your fault but it is your responsibility to take action on when you’ve had enough. Maybe you love your life and nothing needs to change. That is good as well.
Either way, what you focus on is what you are. You have the opportunity to be whatever you desire with intentional focus that is wired into your body with a positive emotion like gratitude. When we combine the heart mind connection, positive affirmations/emotions in meditation, an understanding of why we are doing this, and consistency of where we want to go, we can quite literally become anything we want to.
In an investing newsletter, even stuff like this is so important because so many people simply believe they can’t make more money, that they can’t be successful, or that if they aren’t born rich they can’t be rich. You have the power to design your life and be grateful for all of it and this is how I am doing it.
I hope this provided a good resource of what opportunities you have with the mind, and while I am using this for healing purposes and change, you can use it for whatever you wish. The mind is the only limit.
Thanks,
Dawson
