How Much of Your Potential Are You Willing to Use?

The Most Important Question You're Probably Not Asking

Most people never ask themselves this question.

What percentage of my potential am I actually trying to use?

It’s one of those uncomfortable questions, the kind you quietly avoid when scrolling Twitter or watching another YouTube video about someone else’s 100x trade. But the truth is, every one of us walks around with a personal ceiling. A 100% potential unique to our genetics, our time, our environment, and our drive. And how much of it we access? That’s completely up to us.

Whether we’re talking about investing in crypto, building a business, learning calisthenics, or becoming the best version of ourselves, we all have the option to coast, or to try.

Not everyone needs to chase 100%.
But everyone should know what percent they're actually chasing.

Let’s Talk About You and Crypto

You probably joined crypto for one of two reasons:

  1. You want to make some good money and improve your life.

  2. You want to completely change your life—break free from the system, hit escape velocity, and live on your own terms.

Neither of these goals is wrong. But each one requires a different level of effort. Different systems. Different sacrifices.

So, seriously ask yourself:
What percentage of your potential in crypto are you trying to access?

Is it 50%? 80%? 100%?

You don’t need to answer that for anyone else, but you do need to know your number.

Some people might only want to use 60% of their 100% potential.

Maybe they’ve got kids. A career. They don’t want crypto to take over their lives.

Totally fair.

But they should then tailor their expectations accordingly. Don’t expect 100x results if you’re only putting in 60x effort.

Some people say they want 100 out of 100 but they operate at 40.

They consume, but they don’t execute. They know the charts but never build positions. They follow smart people but never do deep research themselves.

That’s like signing up for a marathon, showing up late, walking half the course, and wondering why you didn’t place (or even finish).

But What Does Your Capacity Look Like in Practice?

40% Capacity: The Observer

You check the price of BTC and ETH every now and then. You might watch a few influencer videos on YouTube. You sometimes buy when the hype feels high or your friend tells you it’s a good idea. You’re reactive, but not strategic.

You’re still “in crypto,” but the game is happening around you and not through you. This level might bring in a few wins if the market’s good, but it also leaves you vulnerable to getting shaken out, chopped up, and confused. You’re way ahead of people who don’t even know crypto is an option.

60% Capacity: The Part-Time Investor

You’ve got some strategy. You’ve made a watchlist. You track a few on-chain metrics. You generally know when narratives are heating up. You keep your emotions more in check than the average retail investor. You’re trying. But you’re also inconsistent.

This is a respectable level. Many people operate here and do well enough. But you're still leaving a lot on the table especially when you know you have more to give. This is the dip level where you’ve gotten over the hump of joining the game but haven’t made the big wins to build the major confidence.

80% Capacity: The Disciplined Operator

You’ve built systems. You rotate positions based on cycle timing. You read, you backtest, and you reflect. You’ve got a thesis and a reason behind every move you make. You’ve done enough reps to trust yourself in high-pressure moments while also not being afraid of failure.

This level is dangerous in a good way. Most people never get here. But it’s where serious wealth can be built, cycle after cycle.

100% Capacity: The Obsessive Architect

Crypto isn’t just something you do it’s part of who you are. You’re early to narratives, deeply researched in tokenomics, and skilled at identifying market structure shifts before the herd. You don’t just consume content, you create it, track it, and build around it. You’re ruthless with your time and intentional about your inputs.

At 100%, the game bends. You aren’t reacting to the market, you’re moving with it. You don’t just build positions, you build conviction. Maybe in yourself and maybe in others. This level is not sustainable forever. But even short bursts of operating at 100% can completely shift your trajectory in this space.

How Do You Move From 40% to 80%?

You don’t need more time. You need more focus.

You don’t need to read 100 more threads. You need to act on the 3 you’ve already bookmarked.

You don’t need to catch every trend. You just need to ride one well.

Your capacity is increased through:

  • Focus over frenzy

  • Execution over perfection

  • Process over prediction

It’s not about grinding harder. It’s about aligning your habits with your goals, reading the right books, understanding the right methodology, and performing through the market conditions.

The Real Question You Need to Answer

Here’s what no one tells you:

There’s no right number.
Only the number that matches your goals.

If you just want some passive exposure to the future of finance, then 40–60% might be your sweet spot.
But if you’re reading this newsletter because you want to break out of the 9-to-5 system and design a life of full autonomy… then 80%+ is what it takes.

No matter your number, you owe it to yourself to live with intention. Because this cycle will pass.
Opportunities will come and go. And your returns will mirror your inputs.

You don’t have to go all in.
You just have to go in with clarity.

So this week, ask yourself:

What percentage of my potential am I actually trying to use in crypto?

And am I proud of that number?

Because time is passing either way.
And the cycle isn’t waiting.

Let’s close the gap whether it’s in crypto or other areas of your life.

Maybe you start by reading for a half an hour on investing at night. Maybe you start by analyzing the charts for half an hour in the morning. Find what moves works for you to get closer to your goal.

I know you can do it and reach whatever dream scenario you have in your mind.

Thanks,

Dawson
